Meet Timothy Dearhamer, MDiv, MSW, LCSW
Hello there, I'm Timothy, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a dedicated therapist, and a compassionate counselor.
My journey in caring for others has been a lifelong commitment. I’m originally from Oklahoma, raised by parents who came from rural farms in the upper Midwest. My path has taken me to various places, including Oklahoma, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, and even across the pond to London, England. Along the way, I've formed friendships spanning the United States, Europe, Australia, and Africa.
My early years were marked by health challenges that kept me away from sports and outdoor activities. I started wearing glasses in second grade and developed a deep love for learning. Consequently, I often found myself feeling like an outsider, earning the moniker of "nerd."
From my elementary school days, I've harbored a strong concern for those who are often overlooked, mistreated, or simply different—a sentiment rooted in my own experiences growing up. Invaluable guidance from cherished family friends taught me the importance of embracing everyone, a lesson I'd be delighted to share with you. As an adult, I've come to understand that virtually everyone has, at some point, felt ignored, mistreated, or isolated, leading them to feel profoundly alone.
My professional journey has been diverse, with stints at non-profits, community mental health agencies, hospitals, and even some eclectic roles like being a bank teller, travel agent, and computer repair specialist.
Throughout my life, my spouse has been my unwavering companion since our college days. Together, we've weathered life's highs and lows, with the most remarkable highlights being our wonderful children.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma; a Master of Social Work from the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa; and a Master of Divinity from Phillips Theological Seminary, also in Tulsa.
Presently, I hold licenses as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Oklahoma and a Licensed Independent Social Worker in Iowa. I'm member of the American Psychological Association and the Open Path Psychotherapy Network.
